GYPI Dataset

We believe in transparency, accessibility, and empowering others to build on our work. That’s why the full dataset behind the Global Youth Participation Index (GYPI) is available for download here at all times.

The GYPI dataset includes:

• All the data collected for the 141+ countries assessed in the GYPI.
• Data for countries not displayed on the map, where available indicators did not meet the threshold for comparability.
• A comprehensive codebook detailing all variables and scoring logic used.
• A complete list of sources, including country-by-country references compiled by our research team and GYPI contributors.

📌Note: While GYPI scores are rounded to whole numbers for clarity, country rankings are based on the full raw scores, including decimals. The downloadable dataset includes these decimal values for full transparency

Whether you are a researcher, policymaker, student, or activist, you can use this data to deepen your understanding of youth participation, draw comparisons, or inform your advocacy work.

For now, you can download the GYPI dataset in CSV format (two files, one containing the data and another with index and variable descriptions) as well as a single JSON file that includes all the dataset.
